Moving Companies Rating

Filed under: News — admin @ 4:18 am

Moving an office or a household is a very stressful encounter. Its success depends on your planning and the methods you employ. Surely, on the face of it one may say that moving by yourself must be cheaper, but if you put a dollar value to the level of stress involved, the minor costs of getting all the necessary equipment and boxes then you realize it is not much less than what a professional mover normally charges. Also using a professional mover significantly reduces the stress on you and allows you to concentrate on other issues.

Choosing a good moving company is the next issue. If you search various service complaints web sites, you will see numerous horror stories of failed or disastrous moves that occurred with the clients loosing either a lot of money or their furniture. One way of conducting an analysis of companies before making a choice is by visiting the Better Business Bureau web site where you can enter the company’s name or URL and get a rating based on consumer reviews.

Better Business Bureau

Although states do not mandate membership, this organization was setup to create an environment of trust between sellers of services and buyers. To maintain its credibility, the BBB in no way advertises any organization. It bases its modus operandi on encouraging only the best practices of any industry and gives consumers a platform to voice their opinion about companies. They then analyze these opinions and subject them to a grading system created by the organization. The scoring criteria is based on the type of business, how long they have been in business, license compliance, volume of complaints, seriousness of complaints and response to complaints. These rating grades range from F, which is the lowest to A+, which is the highest. Most companies will receive average rating between C and B.

  • Everest Moving Systems: This Company has no accreditation from the BBB. However, it does not subtract anything from their credibility. • World Moving and Storage: This is a company operating out of Los Angeles. This company has no accreditation from the BBB. However based on information extracted from other websites, their analysis gives World Moving and Storage an F grading. This means that the BBB strongly questions the operations of this organization.
